Business Planning and Scheduling

Connect and synchronize the value chain to provide superior response to your customer

Creating flow throughout the value chain requires connecting all links and synchronizing them to serve customer demands. A robust business planning process aligns every part of the company with customer requirements. Production smoothing and daily sequencing leverage lead time and stock to deliver the right products at the right time, based on actual consumption.

Case Example: Curries leverages lean to improve on-time delivery and reduce floor space for shipping

Curries, another TBM client, improved its shipping schedule by developing shipping zones and delivery dates for each zone. It varied the start dates of orders with multiple line items so they arrived in shipping at the same time. As a result, the number of orders shipped from manufacturing within one day jumped from 27 percent to 46 percent. Late pool shipments dropped from 33 percent to 10 percent. The floor space needed for shipping shrank by 33 percent.
